Performance and Handling

As is standard on all Subaru models, the WRX is equipped with Subaru's famous symmetrical all-wheel drive. The standard turbocharged engine produces an astonishing amount of power. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard, but higher trims feature a CVT. The Subaru WRX is undoubtedly designed for performance. Based on the Subaru Impreza, the WRX builds on the looks, performance, and refinement of the Impreza.

The most significant impression one gets inside the WRX is the subtle hum of the engine. The Subaru WRX is designed to allow a fraction of engine noise into the cabin. This feature enables Winter Haven drivers to enjoy the sound of the engine as it revs and shifts. Driving the Subaru WRX is an experience of a lifetime.

The Subaru WRX is designed with rally-inspired technology and features. It comes powered by a 2.0L turbocharged boxer 4-cylinder engine that produces 268 horsepower and 258 pound to feet of torque. The standard transmission is a six-speed manual that delivers power to all four wheels. A continuously variable transmission is available with paddle shifters for more economical and enthusiastic drivers.

The boxer engine features horizontally opposed pistons and cylinders, which lower the overall center of gravity. This engine design, combined with the symmetrical all-wheel drive, give the Subaru WRX unprecedented stability. The WRX sticks to the road like glue, allowing the driver to zoom confidently into corners. In wet weather, the all-wheel-drive system redistributes power to maximize traction, giving you a more connected feeling to the road in Plant City.

The Subaru WRX also features a track-tuned suspension, rear anti-roll bars, a double-wishbone rear suspension, and reinforced suspension mountings. To sharpen the cornering response for tighter lines, the WRX features Active Torque Vectoring and Vehicle Dynamics Control systems. These systems reduce understeer and improve vehicle handling.

The WRX STI is the most powerful in this impressive lineup. It comes powered by a 2.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that is undoubtedly more powerful than the base WRX. It produces an impressive 310 horsepower and 290 pound to feet of torque. The WRX STI is tuned for extreme performance. As it features a stiffer suspension and a driver-adjustable center differential, but the WRX STI may feel a bit stiff for day-to-day driving in Lake Wales. However, it is perfect for off-road ventures and tight cornering. The Subaru WRX STI feels right at home on the rally track.

Performance and Capabilities

These days, it seems many manufacturers have lost touch with what the heart and soul of an SUV has long been. Simply put, apart from its naturally tech-centric interior and ample amount of interior cargo space, an SUV should be able to carry you across rough terrain without question or pause. The Outback holds strong in this regard as it includes a standard Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive system. The model rides high too (8.7 inches off the ground to be exact), so you'll be able to trek throughout Polk County and the greater Central Florida area with ease no matter the road conditions at hand. When you're truly looking to tame the wilderness, the Outback boasts a standard X-MODE system that operates in conjunction with the All-Wheel-Drive train to delivery optimal traction and grip on slick and steep surfaces. Not so much of an adventurer? Not a problem! The Outback makes for a great commuter vehicle and errand-runner as evidenced through its generous fuel-economy ratings. What's more, is when properly equipped, the Outback can tow up to 3,500 pounds with absolute ease. That's plenty of muscle to haul your jet ski from Plant City to Lake Wales and beyond.

Safety Tech

Lakeland area drivers all have different priorities when it comes to their future vehicles, but one thing we've found is that all our shoppers are intent on picking a model that's well-furnished with all the latest safety systems available on the market. The Outback showcases a wide range of intelligent driving features that are ideal for travel throughout Eastern Hillsborough County and a diverse assortment of environmental conditions. A few of these helpful features include the likes of an Adaptive Cruise Control System with Lane Centering technology which will help you maintain a proper speed and following distance with the vehicle ahead of you while further ensuring you don't stray outside the boundaries of your marked lane. The most recent installment of the Subaru Outback SUV also offers up the Subaru DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation System, a piece of tech that's ideal for those trips back from the office after a long day as it will alert you if you start to become drowsy and unalert. Further driving ease comes in the form of an optional 180-Degree Front View Monitor as well as an included Rear-Vision Camera. With these two systems working together you'll be provided a full-bodied view of your environment when parking your Outback.
